Where to watch American Psycho online? New streaming options, explored

A satirical psychological horror film of the 2000s American Psycho Available on many streaming platforms and has added another topic to another service. It’s now available on Disney+ along with a Hulu subscription. Other platforms through which audiences can watch the film include Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and more.
It stars an ensemble cast including Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto and others and earned $34 million of its $7 million budget. This came as a surprise to Bret Easton Ellis, who originally wrote the story, because he did not think the material was worth filming.
Before the release, it adopted an interesting promotional strategy, where one can sign up to learn about the life of Patrick Bateman by assuming the role of his therapist. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2000, and was subsequently released nationwide in the United States and Canada on April 14, 2000.
Where is American Psycho streaming now?
American Psycho It arrived on Hulu on January 1, 2025, where fans can watch after purchasing a $9.99-a-month subscription. This will not be the case for new users, as they get the trial version for free and are charged the aforementioned amount. Hulu is available in bundles as well, paired with HBO Max, Disney+, and ESPN+.
The package excluding ESPN+ is $16.99 per month with ads and $29.99 without ads at the time of writing. For the Hulu and Max package, the cost is $9.99 per month for the former plan and $16.99 for the latter.
Users have a few options for renting American Psycho Also, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Microsoft Store, and Spectrum. They will all cost $3.99 for the movie to be available for a limited time. Or they can choose to purchase it for $12.99 but the option is not available on Spectrum.
What is American Psycho?
The film is about one’s desires if one looks at them closely. The ending explains that, though it doesn’t explain what actually happened in the world when Patrick Bateman comes to his senses and recounts how the experience affected him. This will also leave the viewer wondering if Bateman is really a bad guy.
It tells the story of an investment banker who lives a wealthy lifestyle but seems dissatisfied with it. The infamous card scene from the film reinforces this, as he finds it annoyed when his colleagues show off their business cards. This begins a killing spree, starting with a homeless man living with his dog.
Later, a standalone sequel was dubbed American Psycho 2 It was directed by Morgan J. Freeman (not to be confused with The Shawshank Redemption Actor) with Mila Kunis in the lead. It failed to meet the standards set by its predecessor. So far, this film has only an 11% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 3.7 out of 10 rating on IMDb.
Ellis denounced it before the release and said in an interview:
“If they’re not careful, they could end up with something like The Pink Panther movies. I sold the rights, but I don’t really know how they ended up getting all those rights.”
Mila Kunis herself expressed her embarrassment by claiming that it was supposed to be a different project.
