And when COVID forced the world to slow down, they found their way back to each other.

“When the pandemic hit and we all had to figure out where to go down, we all came together in our house,” explained Christine. “We had so much time to talk. There were no other distractions.”

And now they are stronger than ever.

“When we separated, it was just space to see what our relationship was, what my life felt like when we weren’t in that relationship, how much I loved our family unit,” Ben told The New York Times in a January 11 piece. “It was like three or four years we weren’t together, but we were always connected. In my mind, I never didn’t want us to be together. I don’t know where Christine was, you’d have to ask her, but put Covid all of us together in the same house.”

“It was almost a year of living in the same house before we were actually together,” the Meet the parents alum added. “But I’m so grateful for it, and I don’t think a lot of people get back together when they break up. There’s nothing like that, when you come back. You have so much more appreciation for what you have because we know that we couldn’t have it.”
