Police officers gave Brian Lindri the benefit of doubt
On August 12, 2021, one of the witnesses contacted the number 911 to report that he saw a man slapping a woman on the side of the road in Moab, Utah, after which they got out of the truck they were riding.

The couple was ordered to refrain from communicating, including text messages, until the next day, but they did not reunite them that night and soon went to Salt Lake City.
