The original print exhibition in London celebrates the fortieth anniversary

London’s original print exhibition (LOPF), the tallest art exhibition in the UK, opens for its fortieth consecutive on Thursday.

LopF was founded in 1985, and it has turned from a selection of 16 exhibitors to the largest business exhibition in Europe, with more than 40 exhibitors and online sales platform throughout the year. Maintaining non -profit organizations was not alive and kicking for four decades is easy, and longevity is a testimony to the dedication of their organizers.

“We have not missed a year since 1985, which certainly participated in some spy and diving along the way,” told Lopf Cofetser and director Helen Roselin ARTNEWS. “I can’t believe that I was running it for a long time. Maybe the epidemic has provided our biggest challenge, as we had to cancel only six weeks before the exhibition started. But the reward was that we upgraded our website on the web, and we used those six weeks to put the exhibition on the Internet.”

It continues until March 23 in Somerset House in London, and includes cubic white exhibitors, Hauser & Wirt, Tate, Taymor Grahne Projects, and Raw Editions. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of LOPF, Abbott and Holder Galley will present a lighting exhibition that displays the original publications of World War I in cooperation with the imperial war Museum in London.

Throughout the exhibition, there are prints by everyone from the old masters to contemporary artists, with works such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jean -Michel Paskayat, David Hawkni, Albricht Dorm, Henry Matisis, and Emery Emeine. The works of emerging and medium artists will also be for sale.

“The concept of the exhibition remained the same is completely – it is an opportunity for printing traders to meet and show the best of their shares,” said Roselin, who specialized in publications when she was in Christie. “It’s a great place for visitors to meet a full collection of merchants and see a wide range of work.”

During the first 34 years of its presence, LOPF was hosted at the Royal Academy in London. After that, it was forced online on two versions during the Kofid before moving to Somerset House in 2022. Re -resolving it to Somerset House “We allowed us to expand and give the exhibitors more space, and perhaps most importantly is the center of many creative industries, so there is a strong feeling that art in all its forms is alive and taught here,” Roselin added.

Hauser & Wirth subscribe to the exhibition two years ago. This year, the Mega-Gallery booth displays a large silk screen print by Rashid Johnson, as well as the works of Henry Taylor, George Condo and Rita Akraman. “Lopef has always been a very respectable reputation in the world of printing, and this reflects the dedication and knowledge that the team has developed in supporting the means over the past forty years,” said the director of Hauser & Wirt, Anders Bergstrom, said. ARTNEWS. “We are excited to return this year to display some amazing works. The fact that he is run by the same team because its founding is really wonderful, and it is amazing to see what Helen Roselin, Gordon Cook (LOPF Chairman), and Alice Saint Claire (LopF assistant) over the past four dozens of dozens.”

Tell St. Claire, the daughter of Roslin, ARTNEWS Exhibitions such as White Cube and Hauser & Wirt “is a huge vote of confidence and something that makes us very proud.”

She said, “Of course, though, the exhibition will not be present without printed exhibitions and our custom merchants who have been celebrating with us over the past forty years.”

Tell the director of White Cube from Hony Lord Tahrir ARTNEWS It is “pleased” to participate in LopF in LOPF: “The exhibition is directed with experience by Helen, Alice and Gordon. After she worked with artists to produce publications and complications for more than 30 years, White Cube understands the level of experience and commitment necessary to maintain a project of this kind over several decades.”

Several huge factories have strengthened their printed operations since Covid, in part because they felt encouraged to do this by climbing printed sales online through the epidemic. Editions Hauser & Wirt, which exchanged new and historical prints, was opened in an independent building in New York in 2023, while David Zwirner launched the printed publishing process, Editions Utopia, in 2021. PACE was before Curce, which led to the preparation of publications (then called Editions) in 1968.

Publications and publications have proven flexibility amid a wider slowdown in the art market, which lasted for nearly two years. LOPF is one of four custom exhibitions dedicated this month across three countries; Two in New York, and the third in Paris. As shown in the reports of the modern art market, the sector attracts an increasing number of young university colleagues. ART Basel and UBS survey of 2024 for Global Collection found that Gen Z Defbrents reported the highest spending on publications and versions compared to each other generation.

What does Saint Claire raise this year? “I look forward to seeing what Oisin byrne will show in advanced drawings,” I told ARTNEWS. “I always love what he is doing. I am also excited to see the new PEER Blake print that is published by CCA Galleries and Worton Hall. Peter is 92 years old, and this has been specially produced in Lopf. Tin Man Art, one of our new bodies, I will have some cooperative works by Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke (From Band Band Radio).
