Sapphic novels, because they exist a lot

Once a month about a month, I’m going to scroll through the old interwebs, take care of my own things, when Bam, a random bookish account chooses violence by publishing something in the direction: “It is not that I am homophobic, it’s just that there are no good sapphic romances. They do not exist.” As a general rule, this bad taking is accompanied by misogyny not so subtle as “there is no passion between female characters” or “the protagonists are so unlikely” or “it is too emotional and not spicy enough”.
As an author of Rom-Com Saphique, the first thing I want to make in this situation is the light on the fire on my phone. And not only by personal attack! There are so. A LOT. WONDERFUL. Sapphic. Romances. To claim that they do not exist is not indicative of the options available; It only shows that you don’t really try to find these stories. Or it shows that your internalized misogyny has prevented you from appreciating a story in two women finding a happy ending without men involved. Honestly, I’m sad for you.
So, instead of committing a criminal fire in my own property, I made a short list of unquestionably excellent sapphic novels to throw to the next person who tries to tell me that such books do not exist. I love each of these books enormously (and so many others that I could not adapt to this small list.) The next time you will see a bad jack on Saphic romance, remember to pass the word on some of these beautiful books.

Here we go again by Alison Cochrun
The next time I hear a bad jack on sapphic novels, rather than throwing my fists, I will launch a copy of Alison Cochrun Here we go again at their head. It is one of those perfectly designed books that take you on a journey through each human emotion: laughter, frustration, fear, passion, grief, healing and, of course, love. The childhood friendship of Rosemary and Logan ended with a great fall, but now that they are both teachers of English in their former high school, they cannot easily avoid each other. Keeping their distance becomes even more difficult when Joe, their favorite teacher for their own English days in high school, receives a terminal diagnosis and convinces them to make him take a country road trip before dying. A romantic comedy on death is difficult to achieve, but Cochrun does it with grace, humor and so much heart.

A little kissing with friends By Chencia C. Higgins
“Sapphic novels have no chemistry.” I will stop you right away and slap you on the cheek with the romance of friends to CHEENCIA C. HIGGINS A little kissing with friends. Cyn produces some of the most worthy rhythms of the Dance of the Houston Club scene. And she inspires a lot of incredibly sexy dance movements of her best friend Jucee. They have always had strict borders in their relationship, but their sparkling chemistry begins to ask them if trying something new together could be as rewarding as their musical partnership. With two adorable tracks and a complete casting of family and endearing friends around them, A little kissing with friends is definitive proof that sapphic romances can be just as messy, charming, empty and spicy as your favorite hetero romance.

An island princess begins a scandal by Adriana Herrera
You don’t have to stick to contemporary stories to find an exceptional sapphic romance. Back in time with the Historical Saphic Romance Enchantress by Adriana Herrera An island princess begins a scandal. The Princess of the Caribbean Manuela will soon be forced to marry a man whom she would never have chosen. Fortunately, she has one last summer to live according to her own conditions while showing her art in Paris. There, she meets a duchess with a commercial spirit named Cora, and they conclude an agreement for Cora to benefit financially from the Manuela watch in town. Their adventures together offer them both a taste of freedom and pleasure, and their relationship is transformed into much more than they are negotiated. I absolutely love this dreamy romance worthy of fainting in 1889 Paris, and whoever does not, frankly, evil.

Here for bad reasons by Annabel Paulsen & Lydia Wang
I have the feeling that some people saying that there are no good sapphic romances The baccalaureate is a place where people find true love. These people could use a reality verification in the form of Annabel Paulsen and Rom-Com in Lydia Wang Here for bad reasons. Krystin auditioned for successful reality Dating ShoW desperately devoted Because she has never really been in love before, and who would not fall in love with the perfect Baccalaureate Josh? Lauren heard for the show for very different reasons: she wants more followers on social networks, and she is ready to hide her queerness to obtain them. But when sparks fly behind the scenes Desperately dedicated, It is not between Josh and a competitor. It is between Krystin and Lauren. It is a romance wonderfully in layers with surprising twists and turns out of the groups. And even better, it is written by a couple who fell in love with their shared obsession with The baccalaureate.

The most anticipated literary events of (the rest) 2025
For some, the main literary events of the year are a pleasant or interesting surprise – something to appreciate in the moment, rather than anticipating. For others, there is a great attraction in the bookmark of these occasions in advance to plan, predict and build. Me and the rest of the editorial team are in the field of reflection on what the year has in reserve for book lovers, publishers, industry experts, etc., that is why we all gathered towards the end of 2024 to trace everything, from the birthdays of the great literary, to birthdays of books that have had a deep cultural impact, to the birthday prices this year. We have marked these events as they occur on the site for what promises to be a very busy year in books, but there are still so many major exciting literary events in 2025 to anticipate.
Whether you are a creator of content focused on the book or adjacent, someone who strengthens his TBR with literary prize winners, or a book lover who appreciates being aware, I am here with a starting point to target the rest of this year of theater …
