“The entire Grammy family is shocked and deeply saddened by the unfolding situation in Los Angeles,” Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy and CEO of MusiCares, said in a press release. “The music community has been deeply affected but we will come together as an industry to support each other. Our organizations exist to serve music fans because music is a powerful force for good in the world, and we hope the wider industry will now rally to this cause.”
“We expect Los Angeles’ disaster relief efforts to be extraordinary, if even based on the number of people who lost their homes in the last day,” added Laura Segura, CEO of MusiCares. “MusiCares is always committed to ensuring music professionals are supported in times of crisis, and we ask that The Greater Community Donating to those in need during this difficult time MusiCares can help meet the short-term emergency needs of those currently displaced, and then longer-term services as we address the full extent of how people are affected by music.

In the press release, The Recording Academy and MusiCares also pointed out additional resources for Los Angeles residents, including 211LA websitewhere you can find information about evacuations, road closures, emergency resources, and free shelter through Airbnb. Additionally, Uber is offering a $40 credit to those ordered to evacuate their homes. The voucher will be valid for trips to an active shelter using the code WILDFIRE25.
Lyft is an offer $25 vouchers, valid for two trips, to 500 customers from now (January 10) until midnight on January 15. You can use the code CAFIRERELIEF25 to access the promo.
