If you’re looking for a film that exemplifies the phrase, “Every frame is a painting,” look no further than Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 masterpiece starring Ryan O’Neal. Its events take place in Ireland in the eighteenth century. Barry Lyndon It tells the story of the life of a corrupt charlatan who marries into high society. When Lyndon’s constant flirtations and drunkenness collide with his brother-in-law Lord Bullingdon (Leon Vitale), the rift between the two escalates to the breaking point. Often cited as one of the best films in Kubrick’s oeuvre, Barry Lyndon is a must-see if you enjoy completely imagined historical pieces and gorgeous cinematography.

Adapted from Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s 2003 play of the same name, evil It follows the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), the future Wicked Witch of the West from L. Frank Baum’s novel. The Wonderful Wizard of OzAnd her friendship with Galinda (Ariana Grande), who later becomes the good Glinda. When invited to the Emerald City at the behest of the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum), Elphaba and Galinda’s friendship is put to the test.
More often than not, Cho uses the new medium to add meaningful additions to the story. Not all of them land. The film’s final big scene, in particular, suffers from this weird kind of start-and-stop combination with some unnecessary big scenes that undermine the emotional catharsis of the big moment. That’s the nature of stretching a nearly three-hour musical into two films, even with a natural intermission. Overall, adding breathing space to songs and scenes worked for the most part. It’s going to take more than just extra fluff to bring the film down.

Jesse Eisenberg returns to direct and star in the sequel to his upcoming 2022 film When you’re done saving the world. Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin (Succession) star Real pain You play David and Benji, two estranged cousins who embark on a tour across Poland in an attempt to consolidate and honor the memory of their late grandmother. As their journey continues, the two are forced to confront the ways they have grown apart and remember their importance in each other’s lives.
The film’s relatively low stakes keep it mostly centered around the story of two estranged cousins, both of whom clearly miss the friendship they had as children, and want to return to it. David can’t understand why Benjy hasn’t grown up in all the ways David did. Benjy can’t admit that he feels left behind. All of this is set against the backdrop of an effective and meticulously handled Holocaust tour that makes everyone in the tour group react in different, profound and challenging ways.
