NBC unveils chilling first teaser for high-stakes drama ‘The Hunting Party’

The hunt is on and it’s personal. NBC has released the first teaser for its highly anticipated crime procedural, The hunting partyand it’s simply captivating. With the series set to premiere on February 3, 2025, the teaser offers a tantalizing glimpse into the high-stakes world in which elite investigators hunt down some of the world’s most dangerous fugitives, when an unofficial maximum security prison sees a massive breach.

Set to a haunting rendition of Blondie’s “One Way or Another,” the teaser wastes no time setting the tone for high-level drama. Viewers are introduced to “The Pit,” a classified hexagonal prison buried underground, designed to house the most violent and notorious criminals in existence. But when an explosion tears the establishment apart, releasing a torrent of convicts, the pressure is on ex-FBI agent Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, played by Manifest the former Melissa Roxburgh, to lead the charge to capture them and uncover the mysterious origins of the explosion.

The teaser mixes action-packed scenes with a growing sense of urgency. Explosions ripple through dark prison corridors, car chases unfold under dimly lit skies, and fleeting moments hint at the grueling task ahead of the team. From desperate fights to disturbing mysteries surrounding jailbreaking, the 30-second clip promises a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase.

With Roxburgh at the helm, the recurring cast also includes Patrick Sabongui (Homeland, The Flash) as Ryan Hassani, a determined CIA agent; Sara Garcia (Come up, flash) as Army intelligence officer Jennifer Morales; Josh McKenzie (La Brea) as Shane Florence; and Nick Wechsler (Revenge, Chicago Police) as Oliver Odell, completing the elite investigation team. Together, they will uncover the secrets of the explosion while navigating a perilous web of danger and deception.

Behind the scenes, creators JJ Bailey and Jake Coburn, known for their sharp storytelling, serve as writers, co-showrunners and executive producers for The hunting party. Directed by Thor Freudenthal (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), the series is a collaboration between Universal Television and NBC, bringing a dynamic creative team to this high-profile drama.
