Who Are James & Myka Stauffer? Inside the YouTubers’ Adoption Scandal

Girl, watch your mouth. It all started when the Girl, wash your face author posted about her house cleaner and it was getting dirtier.
In a clip from the since-deleted post resurfaced by Angie TreasureHollis referenced an April 2021 live stream where she talked about a woman “cleaning the toilets,” noting that “someone commented and said, ‘You’re privileged AF,’ and I was like, ‘You’re right. I’m super freaking privileged but I worked my ass off to have the money to have someone come twice a week and clean my toilets’ and I told her that and then said she: ‘Well, you’re relentless.'”
Hollis’ response was to explain that she had no interest in being relatable, pointing out that icons and historical figures such as Harriet Tubman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Marie Curie and Oprah Winfrey were “all unrelatable AF.”
Unless selling millions of copies of her books is amazing, she is not a revered abolitionist.
Days later, Hollis issued an Instagram apology, declaring, “I know I’ve caused tremendous pain by naming prominent women — including several women of color — whose struggles and accomplishments I can’t understand.” Moreover, she continued, “I ignored the people whose hard work did not provide them with financial security, often because of inherently racist and prejudiced systems.”
Added the Girl, stop apologizing author, “The important thing for me to do now, what I had already done, is to be honest, be quiet and listen.”
