A new wave of celebrity reading clubs targets young and cool women who read

ODo not get a few months ago, 15 women arrived after opening hours at the Phillips auction house on the section of Midtown Manhattan just below the central park known as ROW of billionaires. They were there for, from all things, a reading club, and they had hung their $ 70 tickets in the minutes that were sold. The host, the British influencer Lizzy Hadfield, welcomed each of the guests and pointed them to standing servers ready with orange wine. Many participants looked like Hadfield – 30 ISH, dressed elegantly in black and carrying the novel by Rebecca Makkai Great believers.

After 20 minutes of mixing in the Phillips gallery, the group sat at a large table filled with extravagant cold meats, surrounded by works of art by Roy Lichtenstein and Ed Ruscha. Hadfield began the discussion before giving it to the guests.
