‘Gundam Assemble’ Tries To Enter The Realm Of Tabletop Gaming

“Gundam Assemble” is a new upcoming tabletop game.
In a new move from Bandai Spirits, A Gundam Backgammon game called Gundam assembly It has been announced.
The game will feature 5cm-tall miniatures that players will build and paint themselves and then play with via a board game.
The included mecha will be across Gundam The pantheon is not limited to just one series or timeline.
Preparing miniatures is less similar to how to com. gunpla It works, which is a nice touch, but I’m a bit skeptical about how this works overall.
Most major backgammon properties use a single framework of tradition. the Gundam The saga is split across several distinct and separate timelines.
When different Gundam build fighters The anime tried to do something across the different timelines, they used remastered versions of classic mecha designs and put the story into one cohesive framework.
These look like the actual designs of each Gundam The series has no uniform conventions to make it work together.
It’s a bit like how Gundam Evolution It took a top-down, institutional approach to how mecha works and kind of ignored the settings involved, and so on It didn’t work well for the game in the long run.
I understand that Bandai Namco is trying to diversify Gundam brand but does so in a very generic and ill-considered way.
If there’s anything we can take away from this, it’s that buildable miniatures can serve as a gateway to building larger, more complex weapons. However, as a board game company, I’m definitely cautious.
