Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Home Invasion

Saif Ali Khan is on the mend after a terrible ordeal.

The Bollywood star – who has appeared in more than 70 films and TV shows – underwent surgery after getting stab wounds during a burglary at his home in Mumbai 16 January, his representatives confirmed in a statement.

Police officials said, per Variation, that Khan discovered an intruder in his apartment and tried to intervene in a dispute between the suspect and Khan’s household staff. The 54-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds during the encounter, according to the outlet, and a hospital official Niraj Uttamani told news agency ANI that a small piece of a foreign object had been identified near the actor’s spine.

Hospital representatives confirmed Khan is now in stable condition, per Variationafter a team of specialists performed a two and a half hour procedure.

A female employee at Khan’s home had also been assaulted and was being treated, police said CNN.

Meanwhile, the local police confirmed that the burglary is still under investigation.
