Asian Champions League reveals Counter-Strike 2 tournament format


Asian sports events organizer Esports champion (previously VSPO) Unveiled the Counter-Strik 2 (CS2) competition format in Asian Champions League (ACL)a new multi-title eSports tournament.
According to A Posted by Hero EsportsThe event will be divided into four stages, starting with open qualifiers. This means that any team from the country can participate and make their way to a major competition, a first for the Chinese CS2 esports scene.
All stages of the competition will also be held at venues across China.
From February 15 to March 23, teams will play in a mixed best-of-one (BO1) and best-of-three (BO3) format in a single-elimination format in the so-called “rookie” stage.
Each of the eight regional winners will win $4,000 (~£3,283) and will compete in a double-elimination bracket to earn a chance to enter the next stage, the Advanced Beginner stage.
At this stage, the four qualifying teams will face four invited teams in a double-elimination bracket. The top four will qualify for the Closed Qualifiers, which will take place in mid-April, where they will face teams ranked fifth to sixteenth in the Valve Regional Rankings (VRS) in Asia.
The four winning teams will then face the top four teams in the AFC League in the qualifying stage, which comprises a double-elimination BO3 bracket. The two finalists will head to the AFC Champions League Grand Finals on May 16 in Shanghai. The total prize pool includes $300,000 (~£246,237), and the winning team will receive $100,000 (~£82,079).
