Asian Champions League unveils prize pool, adds games to line-up

Asian sports events organizer Esports champion revealed the prize pool for the new multi-title tournament, The Asian Champions League (ACL).

According to A Social media sharing On the official ACL page, the prize pool for the competition will be CNY 15 million (~£1.67 million). The prize pool split between the game titles has not yet been confirmed.

In addition, the tournament organizer confirmed Shoot and Delta force As participating game titles for the first edition of ACL. It will join the likes of CS2, Street Fighter, League of Legends, Honor of Kings, and PUBG.

Where will the AFC Champions League be held?

The ACL will be run by a newly established body called AFC Champions League Foundation, which will have its own administrative structure. VSPO co-founders Johnny Wang and Xie Fan will become CEO and President of ACL, respectively.

Founded in 2016, Hero Esports (formerly VSPO) is one of the largest tournament organizers in Asia. The company made headlines in 2023 when it acquired… An investment of $265 million (~£219 million). From Savvy Games Group, a Saudi investment group launched and owned by the government’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Hero Esports, headquartered in Shanghai, has worked closely with esports competitions such as Olympic Esports Week, Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games, and Esports World Cup (EWC).

In particular, ACL was also announced as a partner of the EWC as the two parties discussed how to integrate a multi-title esports tournament into the EWC World Qualifiers this year.
