Bender exhibition “stands strong” with artists affected by Hurricane Helen

Elizabeth Burit Carrington

I had a loved studio on the second floor of the Rivario Station Station Studios, next to the river in Rad, and it was represented at the Tyger Tyger exhibition on the first floor of RiverView in addition to the Artplay Exhibition at Depot St. It has been displaced and I am in a temporary studio in the phil mechanic studios in the upper RAD. It was a great loss and a huge experience to move as an artist. I find my feet and know that I will disrupt my way through this in some way. I miss my studio, I faced a beautiful space, and I miss the exhibitions, and the community that was a real artistic village that spanned across the region, a rare refuge for creative artistic life. The Ashlail Society of Art and Support in the largest society around us is unanimously unanimously. We had a lot to confront him and continue to see him on the evidence on this daily. Some artists had to leave the city already, especially those whose homes and studios were affected. I feel part of rebuilding and more committed to society than ever, but it seems as if we were on a wild edge.

Helen was the second leading hurricane for me, after I survived the 5 Michael Hurricane in 2018, which destroyed my home and more than 80 % of all trees with millions of acres. We moved to Atell to submerge it in nature and art, and away from hurricanes. (This did not work well.) My house was avoided this time, but the exhibition and the teaching space that I was part of it was destroyed, along with nearly 40 % of the technician, and many supplies and materials. I was lucky to save a lot of art before flood. The River Arts region was 80 % destroyed, however the art community was inspiring and stubborn in the face of this terrible destruction. I persevere in my artistic career through a big hurricane, the last pandemic, especially with the help of Rad and the amazing ASHEVILLE community, I know I can do this as well.
