I think I fell in love with the robots after watching The iron giant On VHS when he was a child. This film is always the test of time as one of my favorites. The story of a robot with a soul that becomes the best friend of a lonely child fills me in a difficult way to put into words. I even chose a line of this film as my quote from the Lycée Directory, “You are who you choose to be.” There is an incredible humor and heart The iron giantAnd the same can be said for the book and the cinematic adaptation of The wild robot.
From the moment I saw the trailer for The wild robot film and understood that the co -director of the first How to train your dragon Film, Chris Sanders, would also direct itI was looking forward to seeing him in the rooms with my son. Leading to see him, I read aloud Peter Brown The wild robot Reserve for my son at bedtime, and we were inspired in history. After washing on the ground during a storm of a shipwreck, a robot named Rozzum 7134, or Roz for short-circuit, sailing living on a distant and wooded island. When she saves an orphan milk, Roz decides to name him Brightbirl and take care of him. Choose to become the mother of Brightbirl Ciments the island like Roz’s new house. The animals she meets there leave an incredible impact on her, forming her in the wonderful wild robot that she becomes.
We have seen The wild robot Film the opening weekend and loved everything. Roz, expressed by Lupita Nyong’o, made an engaging protagonist, and Roz’s trip to become a mother for Brightbirl really resonated with me. I liked that the story of Roz’s parenting was not perfect; It was bumpy, relatable and full of feelings. Pedro Pascal also gave life to the character of the fox in the film, forming a charming team with Roz, Brightbirl and the colorful distribution of animal characters to which they befriend.
I can’t say enough good things about The wild robot Book and film, so once you have read and watched the two, consult these books as The wild robot following! Maybe they will become for you what The iron giant And The wild robot to have for me.

This week, we highlight an article that made our type of editor -in -chief Vanessa Diaz feel. Now, even five years after her publication, Vanessa is still salty American dirt. Read the rest for an extract and become an All Access member to unlock the full message.
Imagine it: The United States, January 2020. A book with a pretty blue and white blanket made the rounds on the Internet Bookish. Blue ink forms a beautiful hummingbird pattern on a creamy background, a bird associated with the solar god Huitzilopochtli in Aztec mythology. Black barbed wire, both delicate and threatening, cuts the motif into a grid resembling an arrangement of the Talavera tiles. The whole is catchy, ostensibly Mexican in sensation and evocative of the borders and the experience of migrants.
The book tells the story of a bookstore owner in Acapulco, Mexico, who is forced to flee his house when a cartel of drugs assassinates everyone in his family, with the exception of his young son in a quinceañera. She and the boy are forced to become migrants and embark on a treacherous journey north towards the American border, to escape the cartel and to befriend the other migrants along the way. The book is praised not only as the “IT” book of the season, but as THE History of immigration. He obtains the treatment of Oprah and is rented by everyone from Salma Hayek to the Grande Sandra Cisneros, who called him “The great novel by Las American.“”
It’s been more than five years, and this book is always the scourge of my existence.
