WhatsApp tests music sharing from Spotify in case updates
This may be a great addition to WhatsApp, taking into account the participation that music drives on other applications.
Over the past few months, WhatsApp is working on the process of sharing updated music, which will enable an improved and dedicated display of songs within the WhatsApp case. According to the latest reports from Wabetainfo and Android policeIt is now close to launching this updated job.
As you can see in these pictures, the process of sharing the fresh music for WhatsApp (its version of the stories) will look similar to the participation of music on Instagram, with an updated album artistic display when sharing Spotify Links.
According to Android police:
“Participation in the WhatsApp case updates will create a preview of the art of the song/album, with the completion of the names of the song and the artist (artists). Similar to the participation on Instagram, users will have four options for customizing colors – samples have been taken from the dominant colors on the art of the cover. On the other hand, viewers will see the option “Run on Spotify” when they look at your case update.“
So why is this big deal?
As observed, Meta was looking to add more musical elements, in Instagram in particular, in order to benefit from the participation that the music was leading on Tiktok, which is still threatened in the United States
With the future of Tiktok in the air, Meta’s was looking to build more music tools, such as songs on IG profiles, “Add music stickers “Music in the notes, the song is presented in the rollers, a DMS, and more.
This may make IG a more applicable alternative to sharing music if Tiktok removes far away, and the similar construction on WhatsApp may also have a similar value, in many other regions.
WhatsApp is the most popular correspondence application in the world, and it has gained momentum in the United States with this in mind, this is another way to take advantage of sharing and interacting with music in its applications, which can help it to formulate competition from Tiktok, and/or act as an alternative, in the event of the disappearance of Tiktok.
Even if not, it is another possible temptation to use Meta to promote its applications as the main community communication tools for musicians.
As such, although it may not be a major functional change, it serves a greater purpose, and it can be a value.
The updated WhatsApp music poster has not been officially announced yet, but it seems close to launch.
