Zaha Hadid Architects unveiled the Cityzen Tower in Tbilisi, Georgia


Zaha Hadid Architects just unveiled the design of Cityzen Tower, a 42 -storey show to become a teacher in Tbilisi, Georgia. The tower is located in the Sabrtalo region, which is part of Cityzen Development, a new civil center that merges residential, commercial and public spaces. The tower is designed as a vertical extension of Tbilisi Center Park, and the tower will combine urban living and nature through successive terraces and green spaces.
Cityzen Tower is located at the Mikheil Tamarashvili intersection and the streets of the university, and it stands at the site of the former military headquarters of the Soviet forces in the center and southern Caucasus. The surrounding neighborhood, which is presented by Line 2 of the metro, is a home to universities, retail spaces and new residential projects, which contributes to urban transformation in the region.

The organic form of the tower is inspired by the overlapping hills in Tbilisi and the winding river valleys, and the natural elements within the contemporary urban design are referred. In its base, successive landscapes are connected to Central Park, providing outdoor seats, cafes, and common spaces. With the height of the building, these terraces turn into social spaces for the employees of offices and private balconies of residential units, providing views of the panoramic city.

The LeED Gold tower is designed, wearing a 57,000 square meter tower, with natural ventilation, solar energy shading, and energy -saving materials. It also includes rainwater collection, locally source materials, and original plants that require minimal irrigation. The concrete structure reflects Tbilisi’s experience in construction, which enhances local construction traditions.

The Cityzen Tower is scheduled to be completed in 2028, which is the first project in favor of Zaha Hadid Architects in Georgia. The Cityzen project, which was developed by IG Development Georgia, aims to redefine urban life in Tbilisi, as it offers a modern and interrelated neighborhood that focuses on society, nature and innovative design.
