Wings wet lake: Jenji Lake Wing

The Danish design company Big offers a look at the Jinji Lake wing, which consists of four volumes and is associated with one uniform umbrella. The site planted with trees is the basis for its design in Suzhou because it overlooks Jinji Lake. The building is characterized by four public spaces with metal bondage, and it is all arranged in a central courtyard where the local population aims to gather. This is designed to cooperate with Group Local Fair Arts Group. The structure acts as a cafe, restaurant, center for visitors and boutique.

The founder of Bjarke Ingles explains the design project, saying, “The evocation of the traditional Chinese teahouses structure, and the ceiling of the ceramic tiles is replaced by actual glass tiles, and takes the concept of lightness and transparency to another, and leads to discrimination between internal and external, the architecture garden and engineering.” The partner adds Catherine Huang, “Perfume panels receive cut shades, imitate the papers pattern while providing optimal thermal performance, mixing poetic beauty with functions.”
