‘Two Women’ Review: A Too-Retro Sex Comedy

There is something that looks almost enchanting in Chloé Robichaud. Two women“It is a Canadian French comedy film that is shown for the first time in this year’s session Sandans film festival. It is a “sexual comedy” The way was called the films of the sixties and the seventies “sexual comedy”. It may be a little more clear and definitely more feminist, but it is completely wallet in exploring the tendencies of the title. Neil Simon will be proud.

So, despite his very modern exploration of the female desire, there is something strange in the movie “Two Women”, which is an annoying feeling that “we were not already here?” Somehow, we did that. “Two Women” is inspired by “Two Women In Gold”, which was produced in Quebec in 1970, which was just updated today. In this version, Violet (Lawrence Libop) and Florence (Karen Junteier-Heinmman) meets at the environmentally friendly complex where both live.

Violet is a new mother who suffers from the sound of the crow. Disturbing from this noise, but it is unable to locate a real animal, it has decided that the sounds of the birds that you hear are actually her neighbor, which has brutal sex, which makes fun of it. But when you face that neighbor, Florence, Florence explains, despair, that she and her partner do not practice any gender at all. Violet complaint makes Florence face this bitter reality. I decided to stop taking antidepressants and restore sexual desire.

She does this in an amazing way, as you first make movements towards the man who comes to install its cable, then anyone else you bring to the apartment to perform some random renovations. Soon after, Violet begins to get inspiration, as it puts a taste for insecticide in more than one way, if you realize the arrangement.

While Violet and Florence cultivate oats that strike the proverb, their male counterparts pass through some of their crises. Violet Benoa’s husband (Felix Mwati), a pharmacy representative, has an affair with his Gothic colleague Elie (Juliet Garibi, From the fame of the new “red rooms”). Elie, who is really used to have sex, is more curious about what is happening with his wife. The repeated muzzle includes entering Benoa in a state of panic when Elie reveals something about Violet’s behavior.

Meanwhile, David (Mane Suleimulalow), the other half of Florence, feels very anxious about stopping drugs to the extent that he begins to take medications on his own, without consulting a doctor. He is a sad personality, takes care of the greenhouse and creates grains.

Robichaud camera has a deep love for her heroine, Violet and Florence. Although they both escalate in their own way, they carefully depict them, and often bath in sunlight. Although sexual scenes are absolutely ridiculous in their vanity, there is also a real attractiveness in them. Robichaud focuses experiments on female pleasure, admitting its density and absurdity. For example, Florence rides the cable factor until it reaches sexual intercourse. He left a little and incomplete. It doesn’t matter.

But the scenario written by Catherine Legger was unknown, and he depended more on topical words. (There is a scene that deserves to be affected by what “#Metoo” means on Facebook.) While the sexual trips of Violet and Florence are well developed, their inner life is not. Florence’s mental health is easily treated, and her career has not been mentioned as a translator for a short period. As for Violet, we only have a little sense of what her life was before the birth of her child. It is a slightly painted nerve ball.

Other characters float inside and outside the narration, and their purposes are frustratingly vague. Sophie Nelisi, who is famous for her work in the movie “Yellow Jackets”, appears as a sheep residing in the Violet and Florence complex. Her personality is annoyingly accustomed to herself, but she is also very attractive and appears to be interested in David. However, there is no reason for its existence in the end, although the text raises a greater invitation.

The most worse is the way the film resolves all its struggles to the end. Violet’s last option is not logical in the context of everything she lived throughout the movie, and Florence’s option appears very quickly. He talks about how back all characters, especially men, who get moments of growth are all very passing.

However, Robichaud maintains the plot of the plot, occupying the viewer with its delicate images and its love for the performances of Leboeuf and GMHERIER-HYNDMAN. Actresses represent the greatest balance in the film, especially in their willingness to engage in the plot with sincerity. Leipov has the grace of an eye of an antefall that suddenly flourishes when she discovers a sense of pleasure. Jonat-Hinzmann is approaching her mission with a strategic luster in her eye. The fun is its goal and it will not stop at anything to get it.

However, the movie “Two Women” has nothing innovative to say about a woman’s desire at the moment of time. It seems as if it was inspiring 10 years ago, but women now deserve more. Certainly, sex is good, but it is not enough.
