Dua Lipa on performing in Royal Albert Hall with Elton John and reuniting with her childhood music teacher

She shared that performing in smaller, more intimate venues allowed her to personally connect with the audience and engage with her music on a deeper level, something she missed while focusing on larger shows.
Performing with the orchestra was a transformative experience for her.
“It absolutely helps you reimagine everything. You hear the words differently, you feel the music differently. And for me in particular, it was incredibly emotional to hear my songs reimagined in this way, and then to stand in the middle around just 53 amazing musicians,” she said. Lipa: “It feels like it moves, like it moves you in a different way, and I feel like everyone in the audience felt it.”
The performance features a surprise duet with Elton johna moment Lipa described as a bucket list experience.
“I’ve listened to Elton’s music my whole life, and to have someone like Elton who is a friend and someone who supports me from the beginning of my career, you know, sticks up for me and is there for me and then shows up.” She told me like this.
The special also includes an emotional reunion with Ray, Lipa’s childhood music teacher, who she credits with changing her life. Dua Lipa said she had not seen him in 10 years.
